Running Social Media with Meta Muse

By Jeremiah Svaren

A setup guide for local business owners

If you run a shop or spend your days on job sites, posting on Facebook probably falls pretty far down the list. You have photos on your phone. You know what you do. Finding time to turn that into a post is the part that gets skipped.

Meta Muse is an AI agent you can talk to in plain English. It can help you learn from your existing content and draft posts about your business. Here's how I'd set it up if you were my client.

For why I recommend trying it, read my overview of Meta Muse for small business owners.

Step 1 Connect your accounts

Start with your Facebook business Page and Instagram account. Ask Muse to walk you through the connections, then confirm what it can access, including recent posts and page stats. The options available to your account will determine what it can do.

Tell Muse: Walk me through connecting my Facebook business Page and my Instagram account to you.

Step 2 Give it your website

Have it read your site and explain your business back to you. Check the services, the areas you cover, and anything it misunderstood. Fix that now so the same mistake doesn't turn up in every draft.

Tell Muse: My website is [paste your URL]. Read the whole site and learn what services I offer, what areas I serve, and how I describe my work. Then tell me back in a few sentences what my business does so I can confirm you got it right.

Step 3 Teach it how you sound

Use posts you've actually written as examples. If you haven't posted much, tell Muse how you'd explain a job to a customer. Read the drafts out loud. If you'd never say it, have it try again.

Tell Muse: Read my recent posts on Facebook and Instagram. Match how I sound: plain, direct, like a real person talking. No marketing fluff, no AI-sounding phrases.

Step 4 Set the ground rules

Be clear about photos and approval before you start the weekly routine. Ask Muse to confirm which instructions it can save and whether reminders are supported on your account.

Tell Muse: From now on, always use my real photos. Never generate images or AI flyers. Show me every draft and wait for my approval before posting or scheduling anything. Keep captions short and readable. For Facebook posts, put links in the first comment if supported; otherwise ask me. For Instagram, suggest a suitable place for the link. If reminders are supported, help me set one for weeks when I haven't sent new photos. Confirm the timing with me.

Putting a link in the first comment isn't a guaranteed reach boost. Try the placement that fits the platform and compare your results. If Muse can't send reminders, put one on your own calendar.

Step 5 Keep the weekly routine simple

Send a few photos of this week's work and a sentence about each job. Before-and-after photos give you something useful to show. Include a real customer review if you want to use one.

Tell Muse: Draft 3 posts for this week for Facebook and Instagram. Use my job photos. Mix it up: a before and after, a quick tip, and a customer review I've provided. If you're missing a photo or review, ask me for it. Keep captions short.

Read every draft. Check the details, make changes, and approve the posts you want to use. Other weeks, swap in a seasonal reminder or an occasional offer.

If Facebook scheduling is available on your account, use this after approval:

Tell Muse: Schedule the posts I approved on Facebook, spaced out through the week. Confirm the dates and times, and tell me whether they were successfully scheduled.

If scheduling isn't supported, ask for the finished captions and photos so you can schedule them yourself.

What it costs

Muse has free access with a usage limit and paid monthly plans if you need more. Check the current plan details before paying.

If you're signing up, you can use my referral code C4S2OM at muse.ai/join. We both get 1 billion tokens when you enter it in Settings within 48 hours of joining. The referral offer works for up to 10 friends.

What you still need to do

You decide what to say about your business. You supply the photos and check the posts. Muse can help with the writing and, where supported, the scheduling. Keep showing people your actual work so they have something real to judge when they're deciding who to call.
